Dr. Dalal M. Al-Taweel

Dr. Dalal Al-Taweel, Ph.D., is an academic pharmacist with a special interest in pharmacy education, pharmaceutical care, and the rational use of medicines.
Dr Al-Taweel is currently an Associate professor at the department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy in Kuwait University.
She has held the position of Vice dean of Academic and Student affairs from 2019-2023 where she co-led the transformation of the pharmacy program at the faculty to a PharmD program.
She gained her MPharm degree from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland and her MSc in Clinical Pharmacy as well as a PhD (Pharmaceutical care) from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Dr Al-Taweel was granted the International Federation of pharmacy’s (FIP) Rising star award in 2022 for her role in enhancing pharmacy education in Kuwait.
She has authored several peer-reviewed articles on quality improvement and performance reporting in health care as well as in pharmacy education, and has co-authored a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy on a Step-wise approach to competency-based pharmacy education.
